Terms & Conditions
Estudy Secondary — website and mobile app
These Terms & Conditions ("Terms") are an agreement between you and Estudy Secondary ("Estudy", "we", "our" or "us") and apply to the Estudy Secondary website (estudysecondary.com), the Estudy Secondary mobile apps for Android and iOS, and every course, live tuition class, book, token, download, AI feature and other service we provide through them (together, the "Service"). By creating an account, making a purchase or otherwise using the Service you confirm that you have read, understood and accept these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not accept them, do not use the Service.
1. Who may use Estudy
Estudy is built for secondary school learners, their parents and guardians, and teachers, mainly following the Examinations Council of Zambia (ECZ) and Cambridge curricula.
If you are under 18, you may only use the Service with the knowledge and consent of a parent or guardian, who is responsible for your use of it, including any purchases made with their Mobile Money wallet, card or app store account. A parent or guardian who links to a learner through a family code, or buys for a learner, accepts these Terms on the learner's behalf.
2. Your account
- Give accurate details when you sign up and keep them up to date, including your curriculum, level and phone number.
- Keep your password and sign-in methods (email, Google or Apple) secure. You are responsible for everything done through your account.
- One account is for one person. Accounts, purchases, tokens and access may not be shared, sold, lent or transferred.
- Family codes link a parent to a learner. Only share a family code with your own parent or guardian.
- Tell us straight away through WhatsApp or Support if you think someone else has used your account.
3. What the Service includes
Depending on your curriculum and what you have bought, the Service may include: courses with videos, notes, quizzes, flashcards and study materials; live tuition programmes with scheduled classes; revision books and pamphlets; AI Solve for step-by-step solutions and study notes; the Estudy Support assistant; assignments and the Q&A forum; downloads for offline use; and tools for parents to follow a learner's progress and attendance.
We keep improving Estudy, so features, content, timetables and prices may change, and some content may be added, updated or withdrawn. Content is provided to support learning; it is not an official ECZ or Cambridge publication and does not guarantee any examination result.
4. Prices and payment
Prices are shown before you pay, in Zambian Kwacha (ZMW), and may change at any time. The price that applies is the one confirmed at checkout.
Mobile Money
Mobile Money payments (MTN, Airtel and Zamtel) are processed by our payment partner Lipila. A prompt is sent to the number you enter and the payment is only made when you approve it with your PIN. You are responsible for entering the correct number and for having enough balance. Money sent to or approved from a wrong number, or charges made by your network, are outside our control.
Cards
Card payments, where available, are processed securely by our payment partner. We never see or store your full card number.
App Store and Google Play
Purchases made inside the iOS or Android app may be processed by Apple or Google (through RevenueCat) under their own terms. Refund requests for those purchases can only be handled by Apple or Google under their policies; we cannot issue them.
Confirmation
A purchase is complete when our system confirms the payment. If your wallet or card is debited but the purchase does not appear within a reasonable time, contact us with your payment reference: we will check with the payment provider and, where the payment is confirmed, give you what you paid for.
5. No refunds
ALL PAYMENTS ARE FINAL AND NON-REFUNDABLE. This includes payments by Mobile Money (MTN, Airtel, Zamtel), card and any other method, for tuition plans, courses, bundles, subscriptions, books and pamphlets, tokens, downloads, AI solutions and every other item or service.
Because digital content and access are delivered immediately, and live classes are scheduled and staffed in advance, we do not give refunds, credits or exchanges for any purchase, whether it has been used in full, in part or not at all. In particular, there are no refunds for:
- change of mind, buying the wrong item, plan, subject, level or duration, or buying for the wrong learner;
- live tuition classes missed or not joined, for any reason, or time left on a tuition plan you no longer need;
- tokens bought but not spent, or spent on AI solutions, notes or downloads;
- downloads or generated documents that have expired;
- books and pamphlets once they are in your library, and physical books once dispatched;
- loss of access caused by your device, internet connection, network or Mobile Money provider;
- accounts suspended or closed for breaking these Terms.
The only exceptions
Where the same payment is confirmed twice by mistake, or a confirmed payment was not delivered, we will fix it by giving you the item or access you paid for, or crediting the duplicate against a future purchase. Nothing in these Terms removes any right you have under a law that cannot be excluded by agreement.
6. Live tuition
- A tuition plan gives the enrolled learner access to the classes for the programme, subjects and period bought. Access ends when the plan expires unless it is renewed; renewing adds the new period to the end of any time left.
- Class links are personal to the enrolled learner and only open while a class is running. Do not share them. Parents can see a learner's timetable and attendance but cannot join on their behalf.
- Timetables, teachers and class formats (online or classroom) may change. We will try to give notice of changes and to reschedule cancelled classes, but missed or rescheduled classes are not refunded.
- Learners must behave respectfully in class. Recording, photographing or redistributing classes without our written permission is not allowed.
- We record attendance (whether a learner said they would attend, joined, or missed a class) and may tell parents or guardians when a learner does not attend.
7. Books, materials and downloads
When you buy or claim a book, pamphlet or study material you receive a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to read it through your own account for your own study. You do not own the content.
- Do not copy, print for others, upload, share, sell, forward or publish books, materials, downloads, class links or file links, including in WhatsApp groups or on social media.
- Download links are private to your account and expire. Expired downloads are not re-issued free of charge.
- Physical books are delivered to the details you give; delivery times are estimates.
8. Tokens
- Tokens are a prepaid balance used inside Estudy, for example for AI Solve and downloads. They have no cash value and cannot be exchanged for money, withdrawn or transferred, except that a linked parent may add tokens to their own learner's account.
- Token prices and what each feature costs in tokens may change. Free or promotional tokens may be limited or withdrawn.
- Tokens are non-refundable and are lost if an account is closed.
9. AI features
AI Solve and the Estudy Support assistant use artificial intelligence (Google Gemini). AI answers can be wrong, incomplete or out of date. Check important answers with your teacher and the official syllabus, and use AI to understand and practise, not to submit work that is not your own.
The Support assistant only helps with using Estudy. Do not enter passwords, PINs or other sensitive personal information into AI features. We apply fair-use limits to protect the Service.
10. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- share, resell or publicly post paid content, class links, file links, accounts or family codes;
- copy, scrape, download in bulk, record or reverse-engineer the Service, or get around payment, access or security controls;
- use bots, scripts or multiple accounts to abuse free tokens, promotions or AI features;
- upload anything unlawful, harmful, abusive, sexual, hateful or that infringes someone else's rights, or harass teachers, staff or other learners in classes, the forum or chat;
- impersonate another person or give false information;
- interfere with the Service or other users, or use it for anything other than lawful study.
11. Your content
You keep ownership of what you submit, such as assignment answers, forum questions and photos of questions. You give us permission to store, process and display it as needed to run the Service (for example to mark assignments, answer questions or moderate the forum). Forum posts may be reviewed before they are published and may be removed.
12. Our content and brand
All content in the Service, including videos, notes, quizzes, books, pamphlets, software, designs and the Estudy name and logo, belongs to us or our licensors and is protected by copyright and other laws. Except for the personal licence in these Terms, no rights are given to you.
13. Advertising
The free mobile app may show advertisements from partners such as Google AdMob. We are not responsible for advertisers' products or websites.
14. Suspension and closing accounts
We may suspend or close an account, remove content or withdraw access, without refund, if we reasonably believe these Terms have been broken, content has been shared, a payment was fraudulent or reversed, or to protect learners or the Service. You can ask us to delete your account at any time from your profile or by contacting us; unused access and tokens are lost when an account is deleted.
15. Availability and liability
We work to keep Estudy available and accurate, but the Service is provided "as is" and "as available". It may sometimes be unavailable because of maintenance, faults, or problems with internet, networks, payment providers or other services we rely on.
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, lost marks or results, lost data, or loss caused by events outside our reasonable control, and our total liability to you for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the three months before the claim.
16. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms. The latest version is always on this page with its effective date, and for important changes we will also tell you in the app, on the website or by email. Continuing to use the Service after a change means you accept the updated Terms.
17. Law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Zambia. Please contact us first so we can try to resolve any problem quickly; if we cannot, disputes will be dealt with by the courts of Zambia.
